Authorised district chimney sweep and authorised district chimney sweep (bBSF) is anyone appointed by the competent authority for a district. According to the Chimney Sweep Crafts Act (SchfHwG), vacant or vacant districts and status offices are publicly advertised and filled by the competent authority under state law within the framework of the tendering and selection procedure. The Land governments shall be empowered to issue details of the tendering and selection procedure by ordinance.
The selection procedure and the appointment to the bBSF is based in principle on §§ 9, 9a, 9b and 10 SchfHwG. Accordingly, the relevant competent authority must select between the applicants on the basis of their suitability, competence and professional performance and make the appointment public.
The appointment is limited to seven years.

- Proof that the conditions for entry on the Register of Craftsmen are met
- certificates attesting to the journeyman's examination and the master craftsman's examination or equivalent qualifications;
- Evidence of vocational or other vocational training from the year of the invitation to tender and the seven full previous calendar years Proof of teaching activities for further education and training for the function of authorised district chimney sweep or for the profession of chimney sweep from the year of the invitation to tender of the district and the seven full previous years
- in the case of a professional qualification obtained in another Member State of the European Union, in a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or in Switzerland, the documents and certificates to be submitted in accordance with the EU/EEA Crafts Regulation,
- Certificate in tax matters (if presented not older than 3 months) Proof of the application for the certificate of good conduct for submission to the authority according to § 30 Abs. 5 of the Federal Central Register Act (if presented not older than 3 months),
- Proof of the application for information from the Central Trade Register for submission to the authority according to § 150 Abs. 5 of the Gewerbeordnung (if presented not older than 3 months)
- Proof of other job-related additional qualifications
- Employment references and other evidence of previous chimney sweeping activities or other self-employed activities of the last 15 years prior to the date of the invitation to tender
- Proof of parental leave taken, periods of a ban on employment for the period before or after childbirth according to maternity protection regulations, periods of military service, civil, federal voluntary or development service, voluntary social or ecological year, after the journeyman's examination in the last 15 years before the tender date
- Copy of proof of identity (if the proof of identity does not contain any information on the address - copy of the registration certificate)
As an applicant, you must:
- possess the requirements under craft law for the independent exercise of the chimney sweep trade (§ 9a Abs. 1 SchfHwG). This is the case for persons who are entered in the register of craftsmen with the chimney sweep trade or who could easily be entered in the register of craftsmen pursuant to §§ 7 to 9 HwO,
- possess the necessary legal knowledge necessary for the performance of the duties of authorised district chimney sweep,
- have a command of the German language, both spoken and written, to an extent necessary for the performance of the activity of the authorised district chimney sweep,
- be medically suitable to be able to reliably perform the tasks of the authorised district chimney sweep,
- possess the necessary personal and professional reliability to ensure that the tasks and obligations to be delegated are fulfilled in accordance with the statutory provisions for the purpose of maintaining operational and fire safety.
For the processing of an application, including the qualification test, administrative fees of EUR 90.00 are due. In the case of a new application within two years to the same Regional Council, the administrative fee is reduced to EUR 45.00 if the previous application has been finally examined.
An administration fee of EUR 570.00 will be charged for the order.
- Vacancies or vacancies as well as status offices are advertised online;
- You can send your application as part of an online application procedure or send your application as a PDF file with the supporting documents to the responsible office;
- After you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt with a request for payment;
- The competent authority shall select candidates on the basis of their suitability, competence and professional performance and shall rank them on the basis of the number of points obtained;
- If necessary, selection interviews are conducted;
- If the selection is based on the calculation of the points and an ev. subsequent selection interview, you will receive a confirmation for the appointment. You must then declare that you will actually take over the sweeping district.
- If the selection has not fallen on you, you will receive a rejection;
- The order will be made public.
According to VwGO, you can file a lawsuit against the order within one month of receiving the refusal. The action shall not have suspensory effect.
- Authorised district chimney sweep is any person appointed by the competent authority for a district;
- According to the Chimney Sweep Crafts Act, the vacant or vacant districts and status offices are publicly advertised by the competent authority under Land law and filled within the framework of a selection procedure;
- The selection procedure and the appointment are governed by §§ 9, 9a and 10 SchfHwG, whereby according to §9b SchfHwG the Land governments are empowered to issue the details of the tender and selection procedure by ordinance;
- The selection between the applicants is made according to their suitability, ability and professional performance.
