The satellite positioning service SAPOS® is a joint project of the Association of Surveying Administrations of the Länder (AdV) and provides the surveying spatial reference with state-of-the-art technology throughout Germany.
The SAPOS is based on reference stations distributed over the country's surface and precisely defined by surveys, where signals from the global satellite navigation systems GPS and GLONASS® (in the future also Galileo) are permanently received and evaluated. The data obtained in this way for the correction of satellite-based position determinations are made available for retrieval via modern digital communication media. This makes it possible for the corresponding users to determine the position and height of a terrain or object point in the surveying spatial reference system with the help of satellite signals up to an accuracy of a few centimeters.
For the use of SAPOS®, fees are charged in Hesse in accordance with the Administrative Costs Ordinance for the business area of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Regional Development (VwKostO-MWEVL). The exact amount of the fees depends on the individual case. Information shall be provided by the competent authority.
For more information about the use of the SAPOS®, please contact the Hessian State Office for Soil Management and Geoinformation.
For users who would like to use SAPOS across federal states, the "Central Office SAPOS®®" in Hanover is also available as a contact person.
