Are you looking for a person and would like to know their surname, first name, doctoral degree or current address? Then you can apply for a simple population register information.

As part of a simple population register information, the registration authority will provide you with your surname, first names (indicating the common first name), doctoral degree and current addresses for the person you are looking for. If the person is deceased, you will be informed.

Whether a registration authority provides you with information about the data of the requested person is at its dutiful discretion. The simple population register information is not issued if a block of information is entered in the population register or if there is reason for the registration authority to believe that this may pose a threat to the interests of the person concerned or another person worthy of protection.

• The person you are looking for must be clearly identifiable on the basis of your information. This means that you must already have data on the data subject. These are usually the first and last name, previous names, date of birth, gender or an address.
• When making your request, you must declare that you will not use the data for advertising or address trading purposes.
• If you use the data for commercial purposes, you must provide it.
• There must be no blocking of information in the population register.

Fees are charged in accordance with No. 42 (registration of residents) of the list of administrative costs to the "Administrative Costs Regulation for the Business Area of the Ministry of the Interior and for Sport".
