If you would like to carry out a pilot project in the field of integration, you can apply for project funding from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Funded pilot projects are usually scientifically monitored and evaluated. The findings gathered provide information on whether the methods and concepts tested in the pilot projects achieve their objectives and to what extent they have an impact on integration work. The pilot projects are generally funded for a period of 3 years as start-up funding.
Funding is only provided for projects
- fall within the remit of the federal government and
- that are not already receiving other funding.
The following measures are not eligible for funding:
- Measures that fall within the remit of the federal states or local authorities, such as those relating to kindergartens, daycare centers and schools,
- Measures relating to professional integration,
- Measures for language promotion,
- Measures for individual integration planning, for example advice and support using the case management method, as carried out by the migration advice service,
- socio-educational support,
- scientific research projects,
- measures abroad,
- Measures aimed primarily at sports activities,
- Measures in the field of preventive health care,
- construction measures;
For expressions of interest:
- Project outline

For formal applications after funding decision:
- Project outline

- legally binding application according to the respective call for proposals
- financing plan
- Clearance certificate in tax matters
- Exemption certificate, if applicable
- Declaration of non-existence of insolvency
- Declaration of non-existence of investigation proceedings by the public prosecutor's office
- Declaration of proper payment of social security contributions and taxes
- Extract from the association or commercial register
- Articles of association of the association or (g)GmbH, or rules of procedure
- You are a legal entity, for example an association or a non-profit organization.
- You can provide proof of an excerpt from the association or commercial register.
- You have a proper management, which you can prove, for example, through self-declarations and confirmations from the tax office.
- The BAMF must have sufficient budget funds available for funding.
You can submit your application for funding for the implementation of pilot projects electronically via the "easy-Online" portal at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
- Find out about the requirements for funding on the website of the federal portal and on the BAMF website.
- Submit a proactive expression of interest for the implementation of your project.
- If the decision is positive, you can submit a formal application for funding via the "easy-Online" portal.
- Call up the "easy-Online" Internet portal. You will be guided through the process step by step.
- Complete the application and send it off.
- If you do not have the D-Trust certificate, you must also submit the application electronically.

- together with the other application documents to the BAMF.
- Once the BAMF has received your application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt.
- After reviewing your application, the responsible processing department at the Federal Office will contact you to clarify any queries.
You will receive a decision on your application.
- The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs (BMI), supports pilot projects in which new approaches to the social integration of immigrants are tested
- Further development of the pilot projects by testing new and innovative approaches
- Model projects are usually evaluated externally

- which fall within the remit of the federal government and
- which are not already the main object of other funding
- are not eligible for funding:
- Measures that fall under the original responsibility of the federal states or municipalities (e.g. kindergartens, daycare centers, schools),
- Measures that fall under the original responsibility of the employment services (professional integration),
- Measures to promote language skills,
- Measures for individual integration planning (e.g. advice and support using the case management method, as carried out by the migration advice service),
- socio-educational support,
- scientific research projects,
- measures abroad,
- Measures aimed primarily at sports activities,
- Measures in the field of preventive health care,
- construction measures;
- legal entities and local authorities can submit expressions of interest
- Expressions of interest can be submitted to the BAMF at any time
- Expressions of interest consist of
- informal project outline and
- financing plan
- Formal application via the "easy-Online" portal is requested if the project is to be funded and sufficient budget funds are available
- Model projects are generally funded for a period of 3 years as start-up funding
- Funding is provided as a grant for project funding
- there is no legal entitlement to funding, as this is a voluntary grant from the federal government
- Legal entities (clubs, associations, organizations for displaced persons, churches, gGmbH etc.) and local authorities (municipalities) are eligible to apply.
- Natural persons and state or federal authorities are not eligible to apply
- Institutional funding or long-term funding for recurring purposes is not possible
