If you trade in breeding cattle and/or livestock or wish to attend an exhibition or similar event with breeding cattle and/or livestock, you require an official veterinary health certificate. In this certificate, you must confirm that your stock of breeding and productive cattle is free from certain diseases. As a rule, this concerns freedom from tuberculosis, brucellosis and leukosis, possibly also bluetongue and infections with the bovine herpes virus.

• Your herd of breeding and productive cattle is free from tuberculosis, brucellosis and leukosis and, where applicable, free from BHV1 infections and bluetongue.

The fees depend on the individual case.

• Applications are usually submitted in writing to the competent veterinary office. In some cases there are standardized application forms
• Submission of examination results may be necessary
• The health certificate is issued after a successful examination by the authorities

The health certificates are proof for individual animals that they are free from a disease. The aim is to maintain the freedom from a disease on a holding, in a region or in a Member State.
