Fahrerlaubnis Umschreibung einer Dienstfahrerlaubnis

If you have acquired a service driver's license as part of your work for the police, armed forces or federal police, you can have this converted into a general driver's license.

If you work for the German Armed Forces, Federal Police or Police, you can obtain a service driver's license as part of your job.

This service driver's license entitles you to drive certain service vehicles as long as you are on duty.

If you would also like to drive a vehicle privately, you will need a general driving license. You can have your official driving license converted into a general driving license at the local driving license authority.

Renewed tests are not necessary for the transfer. These include, for example

• General aptitude and eyesight tests
• First aid training
• Driving test

• identity card or passport
• current biometric passport photo
• service driver's license
• If applicable, existing general driving license, if this is to be extended by additional classes through the transfer

• You have a valid service driver's license or a certificate of an issued service driver's license.

The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt).

If the driver's license is sent directly to your home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.

There are no indications / special features.

• if you work for the German Armed Forces, Federal Police or Police, you can obtain a service driver's license, also known as a service driver's license
• A service driver's license entitles the holder to drive certain service vehicles as long as they are employed by the German Armed Forces, Federal Police or police force
• A general driving license is required to drive a vehicle privately
• Service driving license can be converted into a general driving license at the local driving license authority
• No new tests are required for the transfer, for example eyesight test, first aid training or driving test
