Would you like to transfer the rights and obligations of your bus company for occasional services or operational management to another person? Then you must apply for a permit from the licensing authority responsible for you.

If you operate a bus company and already have a permit for occasional services, you must also obtain a permit if you:

• wish to transfer all rights and obligations arising from the permit to another company or
• wish to transfer the management of the company to another person.

Occasional services include

• Excursions
• Vacation trips
• Trips with rental buses

• valid permit for occasional bus and coach services
• Informal justification as to why the permit is to be transferred
• Application for transfer of the permit with details of the acquiring company and person:
  • Surname and first name
  • Place of residence and registered office
  • for natural persons: Date of birth, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles used

Required documents on the acquiring company and person:

• Certificates of employment or certificates of professional competence
• Certificate of equity, if applicable with additional certificate, not older than 3 months
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office, the municipality, the social security institutions and the employers' liability insurance association, not older than 3 months:
  • from the company
  • the legal representative
  • the person appointed to manage the business / traffic management)
• Certificate of good conduct
• Extract from the company's central trade register
• Extract from the driving aptitude register (FAER)
• Vehicle list
• Proof of liability insurance for buses and coaches including risk identification number (WKZ)
• Business registration
• Declaration of consent from the acquiring company or person

• They have a permit for occasional bus and coach services.
• The financial capacity of the acquiring company is guaranteed.
• The person taking over the business can prove that they are reliable.
• The person taking over is professionally qualified.
• The acquiring party has its registered office or branch in Germany within the meaning of commercial law.

The amount of the fees depends on

• the number of vehicles and
• the duration of the permit.

There are no indications or special features.

• Legal action before the administrative court if the appeal is unsuccessful

• Authorization required for the transfer of a permit for buses and coaches in occasional services
• Permit transfer means:
  • all rights and obligations arising from the permit are transferred to a new holder or
  • management is transferred to another person
• occasional traffic:
  • Excursions
  • Vacation trips
  • Trips with rental buses
• Processing within 3 months
• Period of validity: maximum 10 years
