If you would like to recertify an approved instructor in the aviation security sector, you can apply for this via the airport operator at your aviation security authority.
- If you would like to recertify an approved instructor in the field of aviation security, you can apply to your aviation security authority via the airport operator.
- From the date of certification, instructors must complete at least four hours of further training on aviation security and the latest security-related developments every year and provide evidence of this to the relevant aviation security authority without delay.
- If the competent aviation security authority identifies deficiencies in the persons providing training, the training instruction may be extended by up to 12 hours.
- The advanced training instruction is carried out by airport operators. The responsible aviation safety authority is also involved.

You must apply for the recertification of your instructor for at least the following groups of persons:
- Aviation security assistants
- Aviation security screeners
- Screeners of air carrier mail or materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies
- Vehicle screeners
- Access control staff and personnel for surveillance and patrols
- Other security personnel for mail or material of air carriers, boarding parties and airport deliveries
- Supervisors

You can also apply for the recertification of your trainer for the following groups of people:
- persons other than passengers who require unescorted access to security restricted areas

persons regarding general security awareness.
- As an instructor, you can train several groups of people.
- If the competent aviation security authority does not receive proof of the training instruction within 13 months of certification and again within 25 months, the aviation security authority may revoke the certification.
- You have completed an extended background check.
- You have a current certification.
- You have completed the required training courses.

If you, as an airport operator or security service provider, would like to recertify an approved instructor, you can apply for this informally and in writing to your responsible aviation security authority:
- First, notify the competent aviation security authority of the need to recertify the instructor and at the same time submit proof of the required training instruction.
- The aviation security authority accepts the documents and checks their content.
- If necessary, queries will be sent to you by e-mail.
- Before recertification, the responsible aviation security authority will carry out a teaching test with the instructor.
- Once recertification has been successfully completed, the recertification certificate will be issued.
- The recertification certificate and a notification are sent by post to the person to be recertified (the instructor).
- The aerodrome operator receives a copy of the certificate and a notification by post.
- The notification of fees is issued and sent by post to the aerodrome operator.

- You call up the online service.
- Select the application type "Recertification of instructors".
- The remaining steps are the same as the written procedure.
Duration: 3 days to 2 weeks per individual case
