Forst Erstaufforstung - Genehmigung beantragen

Do you want to create new forest and do something to bind carbon dioxide, enhance the landscape in areas with little forest and do something against erosion? If so, you need to create new forest and apply for permission for initial afforestation from the lower forestry authority.

Your application as a landowner for approval of initial afforestation will be reviewed by the lower forestry authority.

The lower forestry authority decides on your application in consultation with the lower nature conservation authority, the upper agricultural authority, the land consolidation authority and, for areas of five hectares or more, the upper state planning authority.

Approval for initial afforestation may be granted subject to conditions.

Initial afforestation does not require approval if afforestation has been legally established for the area on the basis of other public-law regulations and the lower forestry authority was involved in the procedure.

Agreement with the lower nature conservation authority, the upper agricultural authority, the land consolidation authority, and

for areas of five hectares or more, with the upper state planning authority.

If no agreement can be reached with the authorities to be involved, the supreme forestry authority shall decide in consultation with the respective supreme state authority (Section 59 (5) of the Thuringian Forest Act).

Administrative costs (free of charge in Thuringia)

1. application with documents justifying the application and proof of ownership

2. examination of the documents by the approval authority (lower forestry authority)

3. establishment of the agreement with the technical authorities to be involved according to § 21 para. 1 sentence 2 Thuringian Forest Act, if necessary environmental impact assessment according to the Thuringian EIA Act

4. approval or refusal of initial afforestation

5. sending of the approval or refusal notice to the applicant

6 to 8 weeks
