Antrag auf Anerkennung der Sachkunde für die Selbstüberwachung bei privaten Abwasserleitungen stellen

Any private owner of a property who installs new wastewater pipes or significantly changes the installation is obliged to have their condition and functionality checked by experts.

If you do not belong to a chamber in NRW or come from other federal states or European member states, the NRW State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV) is responsible.

The application must be processed by the competent authority within three months.

The prerequisites for recognition are a relevant educational qualification, at least two years of relevant professional experience and participation in a training course, including passing a theoretical and practical examination.

Proof of one of the following qualifications is required to process the application:

• Certificate of appointment for public appointment and swearing-in as an expert in a relevant field,
• Proof of a degree and professional experience as an engineer in a relevant technical field (e.g. civil engineering) with at least three years of relevant professional experience,
• Examination certificate as a master craftsman in road construction, bricklaying and concrete construction (related to sewer construction), plumbing and heating construction or well construction, master craftsman for pipe, sewer and industrial services and persons with an equivalent professional qualification in the relevant discipline
• Proof of an exemption permit in accordance with Sections 8, 9 of the Crafts Code or authorization to practice in accordance with Sections 7a, 7b of the Crafts Code in the relevant field,

or

• Proof of completion of training and professional experience of a relevant craft or industrial/technical apprenticeship and at least two years of professional experience in the field in which you will be working, in particular
• Civil engineering technician specializing in pipeline or sewer construction
• Pipeline or sewer construction worker
• Specialist for wastewater technology
• Specialist for pipe, sewer and industrial services

Additional documents are also required:

• Proof of participation in a training course at a training institution listed by the NRW State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV) to acquire the special knowledge required to carry out condition and functionality tests

If the application is submitted from an EU member state, proof of equivalent documents is required

You must fulfill one of the following requirements:

• Public appointment and swearing-in as an expert in a relevant discipline
• Engineer in a relevant technical field (e.g. civil engineering with at least three years of relevant professional experience)
• Master craftsman* in the road construction, bricklaying and concrete construction (related to sewer construction), plumbing and heating or well construction trades, master craftsman* for pipe, sewer and industrial services and persons with an equivalent professional qualification in the relevant discipline
• Exemption permit in accordance with Sections 8, 9 of the Crafts Code or authorization to practice in accordance with Sections 7a, 7b of the Crafts Code in the relevant specialist field
• Completed relevant craft or industrial/technical training and at least two years of professional experience in the field in which you will be working, in particular

- Civil engineering technician specializing in pipeline or sewer construction

- Pipeline or sewer builder

- Specialist for wastewater technology

- Specialist for pipe, sewer and industrial services

In addition, the minimum knowledge of expertise in testing private sewage pipes must be demonstrated by attending a training course and passing an examination at a listed training institution.

As an applicant, you should enquire with your chamber before registering for a training course as to whether the requirements for recognition of expertise are met on the basis of your professional qualifications and successful participation.

The verification procedure, in which the prerequisites are checked, is carried out either by the competent chambers or the competent body under state law.

After successful completion of this verification procedure, recognition as an expert is granted either by the competent chamber or by the NRW State Agency for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection (LANUV).

• If applicants wish to work as an expert for private wastewater pipes, they must be recognized by the relevant chamber or competent authority.
